1963 Soviet Second League : ウィキペディア英語版 | 1963 Soviet Second League This was the first edition of the League since after the World War II. It was finally decided to recreate the third tier of competitions. The League was named the Class B and consisted of three zones: Russia, Ukraine, and other republics. Each zone also often had its own sub-groups. The winner of each zone was promoted to the Soviet First League or as it used to be called in 1963 the ''Second Group of Class A''. == Ukraine == The Ukrainian Republican competition consisted of two zones of 20 clubs. Upon conclusion of the league format each club qualified for a playoff with another club that placed the same place in the other group. The pair of the first placed clubs was sort of a republican championship playoff. The playoffs consisted of two legs - home and away. Note teams were relegated or withdrawn and only one was promoted to the Subgroup A (the First League).
